This international research project examined artistic and institutional strategies of placemaking and arts/performance-led activism created by first-generation migrant theatre-makers across Europe. The project worked closely with the UNESCO Chair in Cultural Policy for the Arts in Development (University of Hildesheim) and Migrant Dramaturgies Network in order to map structural practices and policy visions developed by migrant theatre advocacy networks and organisations. This project is organically related to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development especially in the area of promoting social inclusion and reducing inequality, aiming to enhance representation and solidarity, and driving the agenda of a more equitable, just, humane, and ultimately more resilient society.
